    I was so excited to find this product because my Maine Coon Cat just loves hiding in things. I bought a kitty cube at WalMart that my kitty loved, but it got vetoed because the cat print fabric was way too cheesy for our decor. I had to agree. So this bed looked like it would be a great alternative – a cat cave that was neutral in color. It was so excited when it arrived — the quality was great, it matched the decor, but kitty doesn’t like it:

    - It doesn’t stand open on its own. The cave has no inner frame so it doesn’t stay open like shown in the photo. Kitty is not enticed to go into it because it is collapsed unless I’m standing there holding it open.

    - She thinks it’s too small for her. She could fit into it, but she does not feel comfortable getting into it because she doesn’t have enough room inside to turn around. She got into it one time and then backed out. She’s never tried it again. :( She’s a medium-sized cat and I thought 19″ would be big enough, but it’s not. This would be good for a kitten or a very small cat.

    I gave this product 4 stars because it is really nice quality and I think the basic idea is good. It needs to be larger and needs an inner frame to hold it open. Then it would be perfect. I’ve decided not to return this bed to the seller but instead to donate it to a local cat shelter that takes care of kittens. I think it’s a good size for kittens and they probably wouldn’t get worried if it collapsed closed on them (at least I hope not).
